Hear how Canadians took part in Britian’s Finest Hour – April 5 meeting

Author Ted Barris will speak at our next meeting on April 5 about his latest book Battle of Britain: Canadian Airmen in Their Finest Hour.

Ted Barris Book CoverIn his 22nd book of nonfiction Barris has assembled unknown stories of Canadian airmen, ground crew, as well as engineers, aeronautical designers, medical officers and civilians, who answered the call and turned back the very real threat of Nazi invasion. You know the outcome of the Battle of Britain, but now you’ll meet the Canadians who helped secure victory in the first last stand of the Second World War. Ted will have copies of his book available.

Location: Sergeant’s Mess, map pin Colonel R. S. McLaughlin Armoury, 53 Simcoe St, Oshawa. Meet and greet starts at 09:30, with the presentation starting at 10:30. Lunch is $6. Free parking is available in the lot on the south side of the Armoury.
